Mariam Azeem has a vast experience in coaching and training. She works with youth, women, gender and sexual minorities. She received her certification in human rights education from Council of Europe in 2010 and further nurtured her skills from Equitas in 2012. She is passionate about the subjects of transformational leadership, human rights education, non-violent conflict and creating participatory and accountable citizenship and democracy. She has been working to improve communities using asset-based community development approaches that make her a socially innovative leader. She played a vital role in drafting first ever transgender human rights bill that was recently passed in the parliament in Pakistan.
